host a book exchange

for today's homemade christmas post, i'd like to share an activity/ gift idea. as many of you know, i love reading, and i love sharing the things i read with other people. a book exchange combines those two things! grab a copy of one of your favorite reads, wrap it up, and invite a dozen friends to do the same. it's a win-win situation. you get to share a book with someone else, and you walk away with something new. you can even create a theme, to help narrow down your options. ask guests to bring a snack to share, and you're good to go. the best part is, it's free.

what book(s) would you bring?

p.s. i love that so many of the classics are getting a fresh face. my favorite book redesign is the fitzgerald collecton by coralie bickford-smith. doesn't it just scream fitzgerald? (she also designed the cover of dickens' a christmas carol, pictured above). wouldn't you love to read a book that pretty?

Ace and Waleena...Two people, actually said...

I am listening to a podcast of "The Wind in the Willows" and have decided that Kenneth Grahame's classic is my all time favorite book. Anyone who has missed this book has a great treat in store. Perfect for a Christmas gift exchange...then cuddle up with this book and a cup of hot chocolate for an unforgetable experience. j.
